The New Zealand Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer Group (NZFBOC) was established in 2019. It connects people from specialist fields involved in a patient’s path of discovery, prevention and treatment of familial breast and ovarian cancer.
Initially this inaugural conference was planned to be held in Wellington in person. However in these uncertain times the conference committee have now confirmed it will be a fully virtual conference to be held on Friday 5 November. It will provide a unique opportunity to bring together for the first time clinicians and experts across this field in Aotearoa, Australia and the UK, to participate in a day of knowledge sharing.
The aim is to:
• build bridges between services or areas of expertise
• connect with each other
• learn about the latest research, testing, management and more.
The programme is intended for health professionals however registrations from other interested public and consumers (people impacted by familial breast and ovarian cancer) are also welcome.
This conference will enable the NZFBOC group to identify opportunities to streamline and strengthen this journey which will improve outcomes for patients and their whānau in Aotearoa.
